Where possible, Andy's own writing has been used throughout the book: his self-depricating humour and bombastic enthusisam for life and boating makes incredibly entertaining reading. Andy's premature death stunned the kayaking community and robbed the Scottish outdoor scene of an extraordiary personality and many people of a very good friend.
